FAQ: The standard effect of this card is to force an opponent to pay the ESCAPE cost or risk dying. If they survive, they receive the rewards, but most players will opt to discard rather than let an opponent have the win if they’ve got plenty of Health. The sweet spot is when they think they might have enough, take several painful damage rolls, and then ESCAPE anyway.
